I am extremely excited to announce that Uptecnica, a new player in the field of research and development and engineering consulting services, is ready to take on orders and requests for cooperation.

We entered into this new venture with Uptecnica, driven by our prediction of an economic recovery in our country. We anticipate an increased focus on international competitiveness in our locomotive sectors, and we believe that research and development, engineering expertise, and the ability to design and develop high-value products under stringent constraints will be essential for success in this competitive environment.

We believe that engineering excellence is not easily beaten in today's competitive environment, and that the path to excellence begins with a deep understanding of the physics behind technical challenges.

I recall the day I arrived at the conclusion regarding the dichotomies I experienced while choosing my profession. It was the spring of 1987, and my schoolmates and I were studying in a small room with a view of Erciyes Mountain. When we explained our preferences to each other with reasons, I realized that I had already clarified my choice of profession.

The natural extension of the curriculum of our high school education was directing us to three options for our bachelor studies: natural sciences, medical school, or engineering. I understood that a career in medicine was not a viable option for me, as I could not bear the moral responsibility of not being able to provide treatment for patients who lacked the financial resources or social security necessary for their care. If I wanted to stay in Türkiye, they didn’t recommend choosing fundamental sciences either. They explained that the fundamental sciences departments of our universities were not adequately supported and that the resources, facilities, and laboratory infrastructure needed for conducting high-level research would ultimately be limited. So, I would have to become an engineer, reluctantly.

I must admit that I did not feel entirely at comfortable with it. At that time, internet technologies were not available yet, and the limited number of individuals with whom we could consult described engineering as dealing with technical problems rather than developing technology. Even highly respected engineers described themselves, in their own words, as "people who are rather on the practical side."I was thinking, “I don't have the depth I'm looking for and it won't mean much to me, but we'll have to continue in this lane, there's not much choice”.

It was in the early years of my career, while I was trying to undertake the challenges of very demanding projects, that I fully realized that engineering is something deep enough.  

To some extent, people define the boundaries of the space in which they make choices. Factors beyond their control may emerge as "good luck," expanding the number of options, or as "bad luck," narrowing the space. Through fortune’s grace, chance’s whims, and choices made, I have now left thirty-three years of my profession behind. Until recently, I worked with quality teams and on distinguished projects, striving to take on the most challenging tasks I could find within my realm of choice.

With Uptecnica, I aim to expand this domain, design impactful products alongside you, build and nurture the most ambitious and capable teams, solve the toughest problems, render the most formidable competitors helpless, and foster a sense of confidence that sees the greatest challenges as the greatest opportunities. I would like to accomplish all these together in collaboration with you and write "engineering perfected" under these works over and over again, with feeling the pleasure we get when we write Q.E.D. at the ending of a profound but yet well-crafted, ingenious and original proof.
